My father, William Hirst, was one if the Boston crew members to go to Hiroshima. I have a few photos, equally devastating, including one if that same twisted truss in your first image. I wonder if these two sailors knew each other? I sent a photo to Steve today that included a couple dozen sailors who were there, including my father.
